Qualys TotalCloud provides cloud-native security with zero-touch assessment to continuously monitor your cloud security posture, prioritize risks, and protect all cloud workloads.

Problem Statement:

Qualys faced challenges in competing with major CNAPP platforms due to critical feature gaps.

Solution:

Conducted a comprehensive competitive analysis of top CNAPP platforms and identified opportunities to strengthen Qualys’ offerings. Delivered the Attack Path Visualization feature to address key gaps and provide customers with actionable insights.

Results:

Product : API Security

Problem Statement:

UI/UX inconsistencies and capability gaps between Qualys TotalCloud and Qualys Policy Compliance

Solution:

Resolved 15+ minor UI/UX and functionality gaps based on direct customer feedback to align the experience across both products.

Results:

Improved Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) by 23% and significantly boosted cross-product adoption.

Thought Leadership Platform

Launched a dedicated Thought Leadership website to solidify Qualys’ position in the cloud security space. Key features included sections like "Top 10 Security Observations" and insightful blogs, offering valuable industry expertise. This initiative amplified lead generation by 30% while enhancing Qualys' brand reputation as a trusted authority in cloud security.

Data Compliance Product was used by organizations to meet regulatory requirements related to data privacy. It was mainly used by auditors (internal and external) and compliance officers.

Problem Statement:

Solution:

As the Product Owner, I encountered a critical challenge: our external customers were unable to smoothly convert data from one format to another, resulting in substantial data portability issues for our external clients. This deficiency significantly hampered our product's retention rate among external customers, directly impacting our revenue generation.

Results:

The integration of data mapping and transformation features resulted in a 11% increase in retention rates, especially among external customers.

UBS - Credit Suisse Merger : Product Consolidation

During the UBS - Credit Suisse merger, there was a need to streamline two similar cybersecurity product lines (Data Compliance Products) into a single, more effective solution.

  • Identified challenges in understanding diverse product offerings and ensuring seamless integration of technologies, while prioritizing features such as Dynamic Policy Enforcement and Data Redaction.

  • Developed interactive prototypes, conducted usability tests, and collaborated on market strategy to optimize the launch of the consolidated product, addressing both technical integration and market positioning

Results:

I led the whole integration process and was able to successfully deliver a consolidated product that led to a 17% increase in average revenue per user (ARPU).

Balancing Security and Privacy: Data Compliance Upgrade

Problem Statement:

As the Product Owner, we encountered an increase in customer churn rate and observed shifts in customer migration patterns. This prompted a need for competitor analysis, which recommended the addition of a new security feature: real-time data monitoring. However, integrating this feature raised concerns regarding user privacy preferences, as it would entail monitoring every action users take on the data.

Actions: Addressing Conflict and Resolution

  • Conducted market trend analysis and tracked customer migration patterns to get insights on addition of a real-time data monitoring feature, addressing both user demands and market competitiveness.

  • Proposed a middle-ground solution integrating real-time data monitoring with encryption and tokenization capabilities to balance security and privacy concerns.

Results:

As a result, we maintained a competitive position in the market, achieving a 12% increase in CSAT and a 4% reduction in churn rate. This success was attributed to our unique offering of security without compromising user privacy.

Feature Prioritization: Enhancing Data Compliance Product Performance

Problem Statement:

During my tenure as a Product Owner at UBS, responsible for a data compliance product, the challenge arose of prioritizing between enhancing the user dashboard and adding a new feature for regulatory updates due to time constraints for the scheduled launch. Both features were high-impact solutions, and the dilemma was to select the most valuable and feasible option for our users.

Actions: 

Conducted technical feasibility, impact, and cost-benefit analyses to prioritize feature implementation. Integration of regulatory updates proved straightforward and cost-effective, leveraging existing tools, while user surveys highlighted revenue potential, leading to its prioritization.

Results:

Prioritizing regulatory updates  resulted in a 20% rise in daily active users, and a notable 3 to 4% increase in user acquisition rates.
